Let us start by knowing who a freelancer is.
Who is a freelancer?
Freelancer, freelance, and freelance worker are terms commonly used for a person who is self-employed and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term.
As a freelancer, YOU are the shop and YOUR SKILLS are your commodity. This means that you are selling your market as you go. You can work from anywhere in the world. I have worked with clients in France, the US, Spain, the UK, India, etc.
Do Freelancers Have Freedom?
Yes. freelancers have freedom. But you’ve got to know when to say “no.” It’s not the same as saying no to a job, a client, or a project. You have to know how to draw a line and how to walk away when you feel it’s time to stop. You have to make your decisions wisely. It’s not easy. It’s a delicate balance between being able to walk away, and the fact that you want to walk away, and that you just might need some of that money you’ve saved for retirement.
You can’t afford to be a pushover. You’ve got to figure out what you need in a job, and then what you don’t need. And then figure out what you want, and what you don’t want. Sometimes, those two things don’t align. And that’s okay.
But you’ve got to be careful not to get trapped. The job you’re thinking about getting may be something you shouldn’t be doing. You should think hard about that before committing to the deal.
Just be sure to do what’s right for you. Don’t get too excited about a big payday. Remember, there’s always something better in your future.
Freedom doesn’t have to be a burden. It’s a gift.
Freelance writers aren’t bound by an office, nor do they have any set schedule of when they have to show up to work. Many freelancers work from their homes or other remote places, such as coffee shops or restaurants. But the flexibility of being a freelance writer doesn’t necessarily mean you’re free from some major stressors.
One such stressor is health care. Most freelancers have to purchase health insurance, which can cost a lot of money. If you have a family or you have a chronic medical condition, your health insurance premiums will likely skyrocket. This can prove to be financially crippling to many freelancers.
Another stressor is technology. Technology can be a major hindrance to freelancers’ productivity. Many freelance writers struggle to work on a laptop or desktop computer at times, as a lot of the software they use is not designed for portable computers. If you need to work on your computer at a restaurant or other public location, you may not have internet access, so you’ll have to go without your writing. Even if you have internet access, there are a lot of reasons why you might be disconnected, and that could disrupt your flow.
Lastly, another major stressor is money. Being a freelance writer means that you’re in business for yourself. And that can be a very frightening prospect. You’re responsible for everything that goes into your pocket. It’s up to you to determine how much time and effort to put into your writing, because if you don’t make enough money to survive, then it’s time to start looking for a full-time job.
So, do freelance writers have freedom? They certainly have freedom of choice, whether to write, where to work, and what to write about. But the stressors that come with freelancing are a reality of the lifestyle.
Yes, sometimes it is freedom compared to a corporate job. You have a chance to work a variety of times and a variety of categories. You can develop your skills. Set your rates. Be your boss. Work from home.
Freelancing can be a high-wire act, and not everyone is good at it. And the consequences of being bad at tightrope walking are deadly serious.
freelancing is a precarious freedom, and that’s why many independent creatives will advise you not to quit your day job until you’re sure of your footing. More articles here in our blogging section

Yes freelancer have freedom. As a freelancer you are free to do or accept a job that is suitable to you at any time you want. I think is the best job ever. You are your own boss.
